Become an active member of the leading grassroots mental health advocacy group in western North Carolina and make a difference.   If you don’t have the time to be very active, support the work NAMI WC does by joining under one of the categories below.  Membership fees provide vital funds which we use to teach free classes like Family to Family.  This class is designed to educate family members who have loved ones suffering from mental illness on what to look for and how to handle and give support to that person.

In addition to educating family members, NAMI Western Carolina is the only local, non-governmental group that has been approved to offer mental health recovery support groups for our nation’s Veterans at the Charles George VA Medical Center here in Asheville, NC.  Thousands of our brave fighting men and women are returning back into civilian life with mental illnesses brought on by the wars we now fight.  Hundreds of others from past wars -WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and Kosovo- are discovering their own diagnoses and need support to live a full and productive life.

NAMI Western Carolina is there for all of our Veterans.  Shouldn’t you be too?

All NAMI members who teach classes and provide support groups are volunteers and receive no pay.  They do it because they care.

Three dollars for open membership or thirty-five dollars for the regular membership is all it takes to become a part of this three decade old grassroots advocacy group and to know that you have stood up for our nation’s Veterans and others with mental illnesses.
